Voice acting in the game is amazing, and hearing a German officer yell for artillery or an American rifleman curse when reloading really adds to the immersion. The smoke grenades look very good compared to many other games (CS:GO for example) and using them properly is key to winning games. The weapons in the game are straight from World War II and are modeled quite well. Grenades and other explosives have a wide kill radius and help to break up stalemates on the objectives. Because most weapons kill in one or two shots, combat is snappy and intense.

Gunplay is smooth and satisfying, with hit detection that works impeccably. For example, the multiplayer classes are unique and interesting officers can call in artillery strikes, machinegunners mow down enemies with a storm of bullets, and flamethrower troops can fill whole rooms with liquid fire. The game plays similarly to the aforementioned, but there are many new mechanics which improve the experience. The game plays similarly Day of Infamy is a highly engaging World War II multiplayer FPS by New World Interactive, the makers of Insurgency. For an entry price of $20 this game is an absolute steal and if you are in a lull with Call of Duty or Battlefield you will in no doubt fill the gap with Day of Infamy.ĭay of Infamy is a highly engaging World War II multiplayer FPS by New World Interactive, the makers of Insurgency. I die less and am way smarter on my approach which benefits not only myself but the success of the team and a more enjoyable experience. Honing that skill is where I am at now and I a loving every minute of it. It reminds me of the Dark Souls series in the fact that at first it can be very difficult but once you start to learn the maps and how to utilize the classes to your benefit you can slowly start seeing your score and skill building. Day of Infamy is one of the most tactical and hardest FPS I have ever played. Even with that said I still can't stop going back and wanting more. Give me a more modern take of this game and it would rival the best in the FPS gig. Day of Infamy is based on the Source engine which is now 13 years old. Yea, yea, graphics don't matter but in a sense they also do. The biggest gripe I have with the game is that it is dated.
